India has decided to extend the visa of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, allowing her continued stay in the country.

Hasina arrived in Delhi on 5th August and has been residing in a secure safe house due to threats against her.

Bangladesh's interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, requested her extradition in December.

India's decision comes despite the extradition request, possibly due to the friendly relationship between Hasina and India.
